Pathways to Low-Carbon & Resilient Development Solutions Platform  
Aimed at mobilizing the private sector to become a catalyst for enhancing and deepening country-level action to meet the ambitions set out by the Paris Agreement and the sustainable development goals (SDGs). Building on the decade’s work of Caring for Climate, the platform will provide companies the opportunity to make progress on scaling responsible climate action that contributes to the implementation of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and national SDG plans. Practically, the platform seeks to provide a safe space for companies to review, re-align, and recalibrate their corporate goals, strategies, and public policy efforts to inform and ramp up climate ambition into the development plans of governments.(2016)    
Standards support UN Sustainable Development Goals  
The group of experts that develops ISO 14001, the world’s most recognized framework for environmental management systems, has been awarded the Lawrence D. Eicher Award for excellence in technical work. The distinction, which recognizes the significant contribution of an ISO technical committee or subcommittee to the development of International Standards, was presented at the 39th ISO General Assembly, running this week in Beijing, China.

The upcoming standard ISO 20700, Guidelines for management consultancy services, aims to help consultancies and their clients improve transparency and understanding in their consultancy projects in order to achieve better business results. It is currently under development and has just reached the Draft International Standard (DIS) stage, meaning ISO members have the opportunity to vote and comment on the text before it goes to final draft and publication.    
World Bank Group and ISO partnership highlights how countries benefit from international standards  
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the World Bank Group announced (10 Mach 2016) the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to help increase countries’ awareness and involvement in the development, adoption and use of international standards that promote open, fair and transparent trade.

The future ISO 37001, Anti-bribery management systems, specifies a series of measures to help organizations prevent, detect and address bribery. These include adopting an anti-bribery policy, appointing a person to oversee anti-bribery compliance, training, risk assessments and due diligence on projects and business associates, implementing financial and commercial controls, and instituting reporting and investigation procedures.    
Post-2015 UN Development Agenda: Human Right– Based Approach to Health  
The agenda for global health is changing in a number of important ways which have a bearing on how priorities for development are defined in the future and how they should be measured. In this regard, a human rights-based approach to health is essential. The right of everyone to enjoy the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health is recognized in numerous global, regional and national treaties and constitutions. It underpins action and provides part of the rationale for including health in the post-2015 development agenda.
